Oludeniz
Turkey
Olu
deniz has been made famous by it's blue lagoon, which is one of the
most photographed areas in Turkey and has graced the cover of many holiday
brochures over the years. There is a good selection of excellent hotels
with rooms to fit most budgets. The restaurants and bars are plentiful
and offer good value for money many with roof terraces overlooking the
beach and sea.
The lagoon itself is a conservation area, no building is allowed. There
is a small charge to enter of around 2 Turkish Lira (less than £1)
all the proceeds help to conserve this beautiful area of Turkey. The
beach here is beautifully clean the water warm and crystal clear. There
is a small wooden built snack bar serving refreshments and good value
food, there are also toilet and shower facilities. Boats and Kayaks
are also available for hire.
Oludeniz
is also a magnet for Paraglider pilots from all over the world. The
take off point is from Babadag the mountain at the back of Oludeniz,
landing areas are on the promenade and the beach front. If you are not
a Paraglider pilot but want a unique flying experience there are several
companies which offer daily tandem flight where you will fly with an
experienced pilot, a great opportunity to see this beautiful part of
Turkey from a unique perspective.
If you
interested in property there is little available in Oludeniz it's self
as new building is very restricted, but a good selection of quality
Villas and Apartments can be found for sale in nearby Ovacik and Hisaronu
which are a five minute car ride away.
