Kaya Turkey

The Kaya Valley is a wonderful place to escape the heat of the day if you are visiting the Fethiye region of Turkey. A short 10 minute drive up the mountain side from Fethiye town you will find Kaya with its lush vegetation and fertile farming land. This area is famous for its abandoned Greek Village or the 'Ghost Town' as it is known; its houses were last occupied in 1926 and is now totally abandoned. Many of the lovely stone built Turkish houses in this area have been lovingly restored, some forming holiday accommodation for those wanting authentic Turkish charm

There are an increasing number of very good restaurants and local tea houses which overlook the farm land, these offer excellent Turkish cuisine, in the evening the air is cool an the sky clear and the stars seem so much brighter than when viewed from Fethiye a great place to unwind and totally relax. If you want a little more exercise during your holiday Kaya is the place for those who like walking, horse riding or cycling.
If you are staying in Hisaronu during your holiday to Turkey there are some good walks through the pine forest to Kaya.
