As well as the larger package holiday companies such as Thomson's, Airtours, Cosmos and Manos which all offer a good range of accommodation, smaller Turkey specialist companies such as Tapestry holidays are well worth a look at, as their brochures feature some simply spectacular Villa's and Hotels.

As an alternative from the traditional Hotel or Villa holiday many people visiting Turkey now opt for a holiday with a difference and charter a Turkish Gulet for the whole or part of their stay. Gulets are tradionally built wooden sailing craft which have evolved from the boats which used to trade along Turkey's coast line many years ago. Now offering much more luxurious accommodation than their predecessors this is a fantastic way to explore Turkey's coast. The vessels come fully crewed, so all you have to do is sit back and take in the fabulous scenery, explore hidden coves and swim in the crystal clear turquoise waters.

 

Turkey's scenery varies dramatically from long sandy beaches lapped by turquoise seas, pine forests, lush fertile plains to dramatic mountains. Temperatures range from a maximum 45C/113F, minimum -5C/23F, the most pleasant months if you don't like it too hot, are the early part of May and September.
